The background image used here is some saplings (Jefferey's Pine, I think) growing in the wet woods around Wawona. Almost every tiny tree in the area, and they were countless, was supporting a bead of water.

The green arrow points to the Hetch Hetchy reservoir on the Tuolumne River. The photo above of the trail bridge across the raging creek was taken many miles up the trail at Rancheria Creek. The blue arrow points to Yosemite Valley.

This is sign at the North Entrance to Yosemite National Park. This entrance is on route 120, many miles northwest of the valley itself.
